Community Unites for 2025 Health First Fight Child Hunger 5K

On January 11, 2025, our community came together to participate in the 2025 Health First Fight Child Hunger 5K. This year’s race saw the highest turnout in its nine-year history, with over 700 runners participating.

The event was opened by Sharing Center board member LeRoy Darby, who sang the National Anthem. At 8:00 AM, the race began, and awards were presented to runners across various age categories. After the race, participants enjoyed a pancake breakfast prepared by the Satellite Beach Lion Club.

The Sharing Center of Central Brevard, along with its event partner The Children’s Hunger Project, expressed gratitude for the great weather, as the rain held off and the event was well received by all. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, especially Health First, our title sponsor, for their continued support. Special thanks to Mara Bellaby, Florida Today Executive Editor, who served as our honorary chairperson for the event.

Proceeds from the race will be used to purchase food for our children’s feeding programs. We are deeply grateful to our dedicated staff and volunteers who made this event possible.
