LETTER FROM THE CEO
Dear Neighbors,
Today, we heard from our partners at Second Harvest Food Bank that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has officially been suspended for the month of November. This decision will immediately impact families and individuals across Brevard County who rely on SNAP benefits to put food on the table.
At The Sharing Center of Central Brevard, we are mobilizing every available resource to meet the surge in need that is now upon us. Over the past month, we’ve seen food demand steadily increase from all corners of our community. New clients join us every day, and we expect that need to rise even more sharply as the impact of the SNAP suspension spreads to our neighbors.
Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we’ve been able to provide food, stability, and hope for thousands of Brevard residents. But this next phase will require all of us. We’re calling on our friends, local businesses, churches, civic clubs, and schools to stand with us in action:
- Donate to help purchase food and sustain vital operations. Visit www.sharingcenter.org
- Host a food drive for shelf-stable, nutritious items.
- Volunteer to support ongoing relief efforts.
Together, we can weather this moment and emerge stronger as a caring, united community. No one should go hungry, and with your help, we can make sure they don’t.
Sincerely,
David Brubaker
